If there’s one thing we love about life in apartments in Westover Hills, it’s that San Antonio has endless jogging and hiking trails that follow the city’s creeks and greenways. It’s easy to stay healthy, and it’s easy to enjoy the great outdoors. Here at Echelon at Monterrey Village, we want to help our residents be the healthiest versions of themselves. In fact, that’s the subject of this week’s blog!
Below, you’ll find a list of healthy living tips that can have a serious impact on your energy levels and wellbeing. While the tips might seem like simple little things, those simple healthy choices can add up to make a big difference in the way you feel. What starts as a decision to buy almonds instead of potato chips can turn into an entire overhaul of your grocery store list.
Without further delay, let’s get right to the list of healthy living tips! When you’re done reading through this week’s blog, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your favorite community of San Antonio luxury apartments!
Add probiotics to your diet
Next time you’re at the grocery store — or at some convenience stores — grab a kombucha. Maybe you always see them but don’t really know what they’re all about. They’re probiotics, and they’re filled with the good kind of bacteria that your gut needs. When you have a lot of good bacteria in your diet, your mood improves and your immune system performs better. Stay happy and healthy by drinking plenty of kombucha and eating plenty of yogurt!
Ditch the “all or nothing” workout attitude
Sure, it would be nice if you had an hour carved out of every day that you could devote to the gym or a jog. Life is busy though, and things get in the way. Unless you treat the gym as an absolutely necessary part of your day, you’re probably going to have to cut down on your workout time every once in awhile. The important thing is that you don’t skip the gym altogether just because you can’t fit your whole workout in. A 20-minute jog is better than nothing, as it’ll get your heart rate up and give a boost to your metabolism.
Set a bedtime alarm
You use an alarm to wake up, so why not use one to remind yourself to go to bed? Set an alarm for 9 hours before you have to wake up. When it goes off, you know it’s time to start getting ready for bed. You might ignore it the first couple times, but the more you can adhere to the set sleep schedule, the better you’ll feel on a day-to-day basis.
